This study provided an overview of global and regional cement trade as well as seaborne domestic distribution and the role of the existing fleet of self-discharging cement carriers. Based on expected market developments and the characteristics of the existing fleet a forecast was made for required fleet additions and replacements.

Design and construction supervision of a floating terminal
This floating terminal was used as a temporary cement and fly ash import facility for a large construction project in Panama. It was later used in Haiti. The unique characteristics of this floating terminal allowed it to be stationed 150 meters offshore and pumping the cement and fly ash to shore via a floating pipeline. It did not need a dock.

Cement Distribution Consultants has occasionally been involved as expert witness in disputes relating to shipping. Such disputes are usually between shipping companies and terminal operators and relate to damaged cement cargos and the ability of the terminal to handle this, self-discharging cement carriers not meeting discharge capacity on the pipelines of a terminal, etc.
